Katie Rasmussen - Director

A native Portlander, Katie is an artist with a passion for storytelling. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree from Portland State University with a focus on Film Production and Storytelling. She worked as an Education Assistant at Portland's Northwest Film Center throughout her college career. Katie's recent work includes Associate Producer credit for Education in Oregon: A System for the 21st Century, and Producer's Assistant with Lakeshore Entertainment for the feature films Feast of Love starring Morgan Freeman and Directed by Robert Benton and Untraceable starring Diane Lane. In addition, Katie freelances as a commercial editor, working with such clients as Shiatzi Marketing, Livengood-Nowack, and Garnier-Fructis.

Katie's directorial work has given her an intimate understanding of film and video; she has built strong working relationships with Portland's filmmaking community. From cinematographers to producers, motion graphic artists, composers and writers, Katie is well respected as a motivated, creative director. Her recent directorial work includes the experimental and narrative short films Adagio, 2am Misery and Eat Your Heart Out. The latter is just recently finished and has just been accepted to its first International Film Festival.

Caitlin Dwyer - Writer/Co-Producer

Caitlin Dwyer has been writing all her life. She graduated cum laude from Pomona College in 2006 with a degree in English and Creative Writing, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. While in college, Caitlin served as editor of the Claremont Colleges literary magazine, wrote for the student paper, and authored arts reviews for an Italian magazine in Florence. She has studied screenwriting, fiction, poetry and nonfiction with some of the top writers in the fields.

Caitlin currently works as a freelance writer in Portland, Oregon. She writes film and documentary narration, essay, poetry, and also does freelance copy editing.

Caitlin's writing explores the vulnerability, humor and passion of human relationships. She has a love for storytelling and a curiosity about the psychology of her fellow human beings. Her writing has been recognized in many ways, including a national scholarship to study at the Port Townsend Writer's Conference, two Pomona College English Department prizes, and first place for poetry in the Pitzer Poetry Contest in 2006. Most recently, her poetry appeared in the Sunday poetry series in The Oregonian.

Julia Ruedig - Associate Producer/Production Manager

Julia Ruedig is a native New Hampster with an insatiable case of wanderlust curiosity. At 16 she began to travel to China to study the language and has been going back both as a student and as a professional. She graduated Cum Laude from Scripps College in Los Angeles with a Bachelor's of Arts in International Relations and Mandarin Chinese. Her passion for storytelling has been inspired by the people and places she has experienced around the world.

A year ago Julia was hired to work for the International Olympic Committee's Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Official Film as a part-time researcher. Julia's passion and commitment to the project led to her promotion to Production Manager for the Documentary. This summer Julia has traveled to Beijing to continue her work for the film, coordinating the production across linguistic and cultural barriers. In addition to her recent promotion, Julia was recently named as a finalist for NPR's Kroc Fellowship, a year long fellowship to develop skills in radio journalism.

A devoted advocate of film, Julia volunteers for Northwest Documentary Arts and Media, a non-profit organization that teaches and encourages community members to create and preserve their stories. Julia has been essential in bringing Belmont the Movie to the screen thus far, bringing her experience in production, dedication to getting the job done, as well as her great sense of humor.
